The Art Centre

The Art Centre at Wexford offers a Special Series Package with a total of 12 credits over 4 years, a great preparation for post secondary art at college or university or for a career in art. The art staff consists of 9 teachers, each a practicing artist, who provide expert instruction and sincere personal attention. The art centre has 9 large studios, each specifically equipped to deliver a specialised course.

Many of our students travel great distances to be with us because of the fine reputation our school has achieved. An art education leads to a huge number of positions in the art industry, the graphics industry for example being worth many billions of dollars a year in Canada. Many graduates have found their place in the work force through our up-to-date technical instruction. Brent Townsend, a Wexford graduate who designed Canada’s two dollar coin is just one of the many examples of successful former students, and you can read other student testimonials on this site.

Wexford has had specialised art courses for over thirty years.

"The Wexford Art Centre equipped me with a great variety of skills and confidence to begin a career as a creative professional. Before Wexford, I played with drawing and making, but it was the intensity and thoroughness of the program which helped me to focus and ultimately build a career in design. Being an art student at Wexford was always exciting and always a challenge. There was always some new thing to learn or try. The Art Centre was a fantastic creative environment which brought together a very talented mix of students with inspiring teachers. At Wexford I learned to build upon my personal interests through experimenting with various media, a process that I keep alive in my practice today."
