October 24 Spirit Assembly

To kick off Spirit Week, on October 24 Wexford students were treated to a Spirit Assembly in the Dr. S.D. Rendall Auditorium.  The 2016-2017 Student Activity Council (SAC) was introduced; as well, student clubs such as WexWellness made presentations.  

Mr. Lyne also congratulated one of our students for his performance in the World Indoor Skydiving Championships held in Warsaw, Poland.

Last but not least, Wexford's Performing Arts put on some numbers including "500 Miles" and the rendition of the Wexford school song.

Royal Winter Fair Field Trip by Ms. Mehra-Laurent's ESL and Grade 9 students

Ms. Mehra-Laurent's mixed-level ESL and Grade 9 LDCC English classes took the opportunity to visit a local, Canadian classic - The Royal Winter Fair at Exhibition Place. They saw the cutest rodeo dog show, learned about different breeds of cows and milk production in Ontario, saw 10-day-old piglets, collectively indulged in yummy Funnel Cakes (a first for some of the students), and walked around all the various interesting and informative exhibits. It was a fun day of learning, experiencing a local tradition, and bonding outside the classroom!
