Wexford Student Competing in July 2023 Para World Championships!

One of Wexford’s talented Performing Arts students, Sheriauna Hasse, has had a busy month in May. Not only was she one of the leads in our spring musical, Mamma Mia!, she ran her first international race in Switzerland at the end of May.  With a great performance at the Para Athletics Grand Prix in Notwill, Switzerland, Sheriauna has been invited to be a part of Team Canada and compete at the 2023 Para World Championships this July in Paris, France. She will be running in the womens 100m T47 event.

Way to go Sheriauna!

Sarah Wells Visit - May 26

Wexford was lucky to be the first school on the YMCA GTA x Believe Initiative tour on May 26. Sarah Wells is a Canadian 400m hurdles athlete, semi-finalist at the 2012 London Olympics, silver medalist at the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games, and was a contestant in the Amazing Race Canada in 2019. She spoke eloquently on her pursuit of excellence, overcoming both her physical and mental obstacles, and encouraged our students to believe in themselves.
