Music Theatre

Every year, approximately one hundred and sixty students pursue a double credit in Music Theatre while studying a balanced course of study in vocal music, drama and movement. This program is unique in that our junior and senior grades take classes and perform together, creating wonderful opportunities for mentorship and modeling.

Our ties to the professional community provide diverse opportunities for workshops and masterclasses, which are an integral part of the program. Our current students and Alumni represent us on major Canadian stages (Mirvish, Shaw, Stratford), on Broadway, on television and in blockbuster films.

Music Theatre students contribute two productions to the Performing Arts season: Work (a celebration of student creation); and the spring musical. Recent productions include Hair, West Side Story, Urinetown, Hairspray, Music Man, Evita, Rent, and the original commission Summerland.
