Wexford Graduate Wins Ontario Tech University Founder's Scholarship

Gabriella Chiapetta was one of Wexford’s star performers in this year’s WPA production of Mamma Mia cast as Tanya, and was also a leader and student-athlete on the soccer, field hockey, volleyball, and badminton teams.  Despite her busy extracurricular schedule, Gabriella also studied hard in Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus and Vectors to earn high marks and gain admission into Ontario Tech University’s mechanical engineering program for September 2023.  At the end of May, she was surprised by Hunter the Ridgeback, OTU's mascot, as she was awarded the Ontario Tech University Founder’s Scholarship worth $24,000.

Gabriella noted, “This is a huge accomplishment for me and I’m extremely grateful.  Drama is a huge passion of mine and though I’m going into mechanical engineering I hope to keep it up.  Wexford helped shape me to be who I am, and though I am sad to be leaving I’m very excited for this next chapter of my life.”

Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts is proud of Gabriella for her many accomplishments in the classroom, on the stage, and on the playing fields, and we wish her nothing but the best in her next journey as she enters post-secondary studies.
